Closure due to ‘internet and technical difficulties’: LifeLabs customer service representative

COBOURG -- The LifeLabs location at 1060 Burnham St. is closed temporarily due to “technical difficulties.”

A resident who discovered the company’s Cobourg location was closed during regular business hours on Feb. 4 contacted Northumberland News to find out the reason behind the closure.

Although a message seeking information was sent to the company’s media relations department, no response was received by press time.

A LifeLabs customer service representative who answered the phone in Cobourg said the Cobourg location, which would typically be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., “is not available right now.”

“ will be closed today and most likely tomorrow,” the rep said. “They are just having some issues with the Internet and technical difficulties in the area, so it is just a temporary closure for now.”

A sign posted beside the front door said the site will be closed until further notice, with the nearest locations that are open in Trenton, Bowmanville, Peterborough and Lindsay.

LifeLabs, a Canadian-owned company, performs more than 112 million laboratory tests to help diagnose, treat, monitor and prevent disease.
